The California Field Atlas by Obi Kaufmann  Released Sept 1st is the one of it's kind book, the California Field Atlas. Author and friend Obi spent years capturing all of the great state's natural wonders in paintings. His collection is like no other guide or exploration of nature.   He's embarking on a book tour, Tracking Thunderbirds and will be signing his one of a kind collection at a few of our favorite shops: North Menswear Laguna Beach, Sat 9/9 - 4 pm Right Tribe Manhattan Beach, Mon 9/11 - 5 pm Seaweed and Gravel Encinitas, Wed 9/13 - 4 pm

The Psychedelic Skulls I've been asked several times now ... why the Psychedelic Skulls? The series of indigo applique and hand-embroidery was inspired my obsessions for the artwork of Friso Henstra, psychedelic rock posters, punk bands and calaveras.

The 1970's influenced many weird, wild and wonderful books. Forgetful Fred written by Jay Williams and illustrated Friso Henstra in 1974 was a favorite.
